Two Google reports are stuck, and it is not your site
Barry Schwartz flagged both gaps, and Glenn Gabe says the lag is nothing new.
Two Google reports have gone quiet at the same time, and neither gap means anything is wrong with your site.
Barry Schwartz reported that the Search Console links report (the list of other sites that link to yours) has not updated since August 8th, a month ago. He later added that it is "now a month delayed, not a week or two weeks". Separately, Schwartz reported that the Google Business Profile insights report (the views, calls and clicks stats for your business listing) is missing all of September 2026 data so far.
Why the links report is always behind
Glenn Gabe said the delay does not surprise him, and that the last update looked like early August. He also made a wider point about that report. Google deliberately holds back its best link data, because spammers could work out how the system behaves if everything was there.
So the links report was never a full picture of who links to you, even when it is working. A month of missing updates does not change much for a small business owner.
What this means for you
If you looked at either report this week and saw stale or empty numbers, that is the report, not your rankings and not your listing. Nobody has said when either one will catch up, and there is no word from Google on a cause.
The Business Profile gap is the more annoying of the two, because those calls and clicks numbers are how a local business sees whether its listing is working. If you track those figures monthly, note that September is a hole and come back to it later rather than assuming your listing stopped getting traffic.
Do nothing else. There is no fix on your end for either report, and no action that speeds up a Google data pipeline. Your site is still being crawled, people are still finding your listing, and the underlying links to your site have not disappeared just because a dashboard stopped refreshing.
If you want a sanity check on traffic in the meantime, use your own analytics tool rather than these two reports. That data is yours and it is not waiting on Google to process anything.
Doesn't shock me the report is lagging (again). Seems like the last time it was updated was early August.
